Assistant Principal's Message

Dear Maryland Families,

My name is D.D. Carr and I have the privilege of being the new assistant principal of Maryland Elementary. I began my career in Washington Elementary School District in 1999 and have enjoyed serving children and families within the district through several roles including classroom teacher, after school coordinator, student services specialist, and 21st Century project director. I am proud to work in WESD, the largest elementary school district in Arizona serving communities for 125 years. I greatly value education and received my Bachelor of Science from New Mexico State University and my Masters of Education from Arizona State University. As the proud parent of five amazing children that are my guiding force as I strive to provide the highest level of educational services for the children and families I serve. Their unique needs have allowed me the ability to gain skills, resources, and understanding to support families.

Our school mission is, "Achieving success for all, every day in every way!" The idea of our mission is not only being the difference, but making a difference in our community in partnership with our families. I encourage students, families, and community members to get involved. I would love to have you to stop by or call me with any questions or ideas. I believe in our school, our community, and our families.
Together we can be the difference.
